Charles qualified from the University of Essex in 2018 with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy. Charles has a very practical and empathetic approach, having retrained later in life, working prior in a skilled occupation, he fully understands how managing your aches and pains is imperative for a good quality of life. In addition, having been self-employed in his previous career, Charles knows first-hand how aches and pain can limit day-to-day life, performance and potential income. Therefore, he fully understands the urgency to regain pain-free movement and function. He has an excellent understanding of a variety of injuries and keeps up to date with the latest research and evidence.
Charles appreciates the challenges patients face with life being so hectic as he trained as a Physiotherapist whilst embarking on fatherhood and bringing up a young family. Thus he is realistic and provides excellent patient centred care set around your own time constraints and commitments. He currently works locally in the NHS part time, which gives him invaluable insight into healthcare, and local specialists, as well as, referral pathways. So if you require onward referral with your injury you can feel confident he will refer you to the required specialist.
Early into his career, Charles was fortunate to gain experience in hydrotherapy, working with patients suffering with persistent pain and long term conditions such as, Ankylosing Spondylitis. It was this early experience that gave him the chance to connect and build strong rapport with patients; an essential element of the therapist-patient relationship. He has since gone on to gain experience on the wards at Colchester General, including critical care, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation outpatient and inpatients. He is passionate about musculoskeletal physiotherapy and injuries with a particular interest in pain management and the the lower limb.
Charles has a very keen interest in sports, and enjoys playing squash, cricket, golf and cycling, amongst chasing around after his two young children. He is passionate about musculoskeletal physiotherapy and injuries with a particular interest in pain management and the the lower limb.
